    Rev. Alexander Theodore Sims, 78, died at a Selma hospital and was brought to Georgiana for burial. Services were conducted by Rev. J. S. McLeod, pastor of the Beatrice Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. L. A. Nall, pastor of the Georgiana Baptist Ch. Survived by his widow Mrs. Annie Laurie Sims, 7 daughters, Miss Lillian Sims, in charge of the religious work at the State Baptist Hospital in Selma, Mrs. Charles L. Sims of Georgiana, Mrs. Phillip K. Urquhart of Montgomery, Mrs. James W. Coor and Mrs. Fred L. Davis of Birmingham, Misses Margaret and Grace Sims of Beatrice, and 2 sons Oscar C. Sims of Mobile and A. T. Sims, Jr. of Beatrice. He was born and reared in Butler Co. and served the Georgiana Church for 3 years beginning in 1888. Burial was in Oakwood Cem. by the side of his first wife, the former Sarah Nancy Adelia Hilson. (9/22/1927). Published in The Greenville Advocate.

  4. A.T. was a very popular Baptist preacher and preach at small Baptist Churches all thoughout south Alabama and Mississippi.
    One of his brothers was also a Baptist Preacher.
