Early Years
On the 15 July 1889, Alexander Kaye Ogilvie was born to David Menzies and Barbara Jane Kaye Ogilvie in Kenosha, Kenosha, Wisconsin. He is the oldest boy and the second born to this family, the oldest being Winn (Winifred) who was born in Chicago,Cook, Illionis.
In late 1891 or in 1892 this little family plus one brother Norman Ogilvie, born on 14 July 1891 moved to a small town in Iowa. Earville to be exact. There would be many future moves for this family. David Menzies was a Presbyterian Minister and had many stations along the way.
Earlville, Oakland, Iona, and Clarence Iowa where some of the places that he lived as a young boy. When he was 16 the family moved back to Illions to the town of Sandwich where Kaye ( as his family called him) would stay after the family moved on to Hot Springs North Carolina.
21-27
From this point forward we find Kaye in Illionis for a good part of his young adulthood. At the age of 21 we find him in 1910 Federal Census for Illinois he is found in a boarding house in Chicago Ward 20, Cook, Illinois.
War Years
According to Kaye's registration he was as of slender build, medium height, light brown eyes, and dark brown slightly balding hair.[5]
He was member of the 278th Aero Squadron For more information, see the EN Wikipedia article 278th Aero Squadron.
Kaye was killed on Nov 29, 1918. There is a Photo of the Plane that researchers believe to be the remains of the ship that Kaye and Bill where in when it went down.
