QUAY 3 "The death occurred on Monday[Oct. 18] of Mr. Alexander Ewan McDonald, in his 72nd year, after an illness of a couple of weeks with inflammation of the heart. He was taken ill with a cold at his room at the Royal Hotel and moved on Sunday, a week prior to his death, to the home of his sister, Mrs. Malcolm Ball, 246 Oxford St. He was born in Mara township, being a son of the late Angus and Mary M cDonald. He was never married and had lived in Orillia about 28 years, most of the time being in the employ of Mr. J.J. Hatley. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Nathan Calverley and Mrs. Ball, Orillia; and also three brothers, George McDonald, Windsor; John, Fairbanks, Alaska; and Angus, Orillia. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon to Orillia Cem., the service being conducted by Rev. N. H. McGillivray."
