After he moved from Erie to Reneve, he went to work for the Pennsylvania RR. Later moved to St. Mary's in 1896. Enlisted in the Army shortly after the start of the Spanish-American War. Joined the Penn National Guard May 7, 1898, Company H, 16th Regiment. Discharged 12/28, 1898. Worked for Shawmut RR Co. until he retired in 1940.
