Albertina had nine children, but only two, Carl and Herman lived to adulthood. Several of the children died due to harsh conditions in Brazil.

Albertina's maiden name was Kunde and was related to theFehlbergs of Chaska, MN. Herman Fehlberg married Wilhelmine Kunde (born July 10, 1849), who was a sister of Albertina, in Germany and they lived in Chaska,Minn.
