    Dixie General's Daughter Dies.

    Mrs. Alberta Johnston Denis, 86, daughter of Civil War Gen. Albert Sidney Johnston and widow of George J. Denis, died yesterday at the Biltmore, where she had lived for many years.

    Mrs. Denis was born in Los Angeles. Her father operated a ranch on the site now occupied by Pasadena. Her husband was a U.S. attorney here under Grover Cleveland.

    Known as Author.

    She was the author of books on California and wrote several volumes of poetry. She leaves a daughter, Alberta [Incorrect: Daughter Alberta died 1911], and a niece, Elsie Pritchard of Oakland.

    Bishop Bertrand Stevens of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles will officiate at funeral services Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Bresee Bros. & Gilette Mortuary. Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery.
