Dudley Weed, 76, Topeka, died Thursday, July 12, 2001, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Weed had been a Topeka police officer and a new car salesman. He retired from the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office. He also served in the both the Army and the Air Force.
He was born Nov 15, 1924, in Topeka, the son of Ralph and Hannah Carlson Weed. He attended Topeka Public School and graduated from Topeka High School in 1942, He attended Washburn University.
Mr. Weed was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church and the Fraternal Order of Police.
He married Ruth Kelly Cell on Sept 25, 1970. She survives.
Other survivors include two stepsons, Alan Cell and Roger Cell, both of Topeka; and a grand-daughter.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Inurnment will be private.
