Albert first worked on the family farm at Bejoording and then at an assortment of odd jobs around the Toodyay area. When his parents died (James and Julie) he and his family moved into their house which was situated in Telegraph Road, Toodyay. He died in a Midland nursing home and his ashes have been placed in the grave of his parents in the Toodyay cemetery.
