- Douglass, Robert. The Baronage of Scotland: Containing, An Historical and Genealogical Account of the Gentry of that Kingdom. (London: Cadell & Davies, 1798), Pages 247, 248.
- XIV. George, eldest son and apparent heir of Sir Oliver Sinclair of Roslin, got a charter under the great seal, upon his father’s resignation from King James IV. Georgia Sinclair apparenti de Roslin, terrarium baronia de Roslin et Herbertshire, etc. dated 5th January 1491, of which Sir Oliver reserved to himself the superiority.
- Also a charter, terrarium baronia de Pentland, cum advocatione ecclesia de Pentland, etc. etc. This charter is of the same date with the former.
- He, with his father’s approbation, married Agnes, daughter of Robert lord Crichton of Sanquhar, ancestor of the earls of Dumfries, (omitted in the Peerage, page 199,) and afterwards got a charter under the great seal, confirming to him, et Agneta Crichton ejus sponsa, terrarium baronia de Herbertshire, etc.
- The confirmation is dated 9th May 1506.
- He died before his father, and, by the said Agnes Crichton, left two sons.
- 1. Sir William XV, who carried on the line of the family.
- 2. Alexander, who got a charter under the great seal, Alexandro Sinclair, fratri germano domini Willielmi Sinclair de Roslin, militis, terrarium baronia de Cockburnspath, etc. in Berwickshire, dated 5th April 1541; but we can give no account of his posterity.
