    VAN ARKEL, Adrian - Age 81 of Ridgetown formerly of Dresden passed away at the Village Retirement Home Monday January 19, 2009. Born in Holland son of the late Laurentus and Andreena (Sanders) VanArkel. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church Dresden and the Knights of Columbus. His wife Nelly (Koevoets) VanArkel predeceased 2007. Surviving are two sons Laurent and Catherine VanArkel of R. R. # 6 Dresden and Gerrard and Brenda VanArkel of Richmond Hill; four grandchildren, five sisters: Ann & Joe VanDooren of Seaforth, Frances Van Asseldonk of Wallaceburg, Nelly & Andy VanDen Diepstratten of Blenheim, Mary & Andy Van Loon of Kitchener and Jane & John VanDen Diepstratten of California., three brothers: Henry & Gerda VanArkel of Sarnia, Frank VanBeers of Dutton and John & Judy Van Beers of Goderich, sister-in-law Niettie VanBeers of Chatham. Adrian is predeceased by a brother Joe VanBeers, brother-in-law Martin VanAsseldonk and sister-in-law Wilhemina VanBeers.Visitors will be received at the THOMAS L. DEBURGER FUNERAL HOME 620 Cross St. Dresden on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church, Dresden on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Dresden Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to Parkinson Society or Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation may be made by cheque and left and the funeral home.
