Mr. Adriaan Sloot passed away in hospital, at the age of 83 years. He immigrated to Canada from Holland as a young boy, arriving on May 8th, 1948, his 11th birthday. During his career, Adriaan was employed at Delhi Foundry and VandenBussche Irrigation. He was an enthusiastic hockey fan, always ready to watch a game any night of the week. Adriaan was a member of the 56th Field Regiment in Simcoe, and an integral part of Minor Soccer in Delhi, helping to build the soccer fields there. During the summer months, he loved spending time with his wife and family at their cottage in northern Ontario.
Adriaan was the cherished husband and best friend of Lois, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. He was a wonderful father to his sons Robert (Carolyn) and Allen (Sawako), and the proudest grandfather ever of his four beloved grandchildren. Adriaan will always be lovingly remembered by his siblings Mike (Agnes), Louis (Pat) and Alida (Rene), and by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his brothers John and Corey.
