The authentic record of the Wilson family begins with Abaham Wilson, son Benjamin Wilson, the later of which we have found no record except name. Campbell's History of Caroline Countym Virginia lists Ab raham Wilson as a freeholder who registered one young slave with the Caoline County Court between 1732 and 1734.He served on the jury of Caroline in 1765 and 1772 and was also one of the executors of the following estates:John Miller, 1766, Susannah Miller, 1767 in the vicinity of Isle of Wwight, Virginia, but the records in that area were destroyed during the pioneer period thus preventing further research.I has been related that our Wilson ancestors once owned land in which now stands Independance Hall in Philadelphia.Abaham Wilson purchased from the Sate of North Carolina a land grant of 130 acres, recorded in Land Grant Book #47,Pgs. 290 &291, File #375. Abraham and Sarah were residents of Caroline County Virginia at the time of the birth of their son, James Wilson Sr.
