‘Margaret [daughter of Robert and Catherine (Taylor) Fitz Randolph], b. 1 May 1744; … m. in Woodbridge, between the October and November Meeting in 1768 and reported to the Woodbridge Monthly Meeting, Abram (Abraham) Vail, b. 12 Sept. 1744, d. in Upper Middleton, Pa., 18 Dec. 1839, son of Stephen and Esther (Smith) Vail. This Abram Vail was known as “Black Abram” to distinguish him from Abraham Vail who married Margaret Fitz Randolph [daughter of Edward and Phebe (Jackson) Fitz Randolph], who was known as “Red Abraham”.’
