On 14 Dec 1793 Abraham Comegys was the administrator of the estate of Hannah Smith, the mother of his wife.

The administration settling the account of Hannah Smith was by Abm Comegys agent in fact for Abm Comegys Jr. While this doesn't conclusively imply the father-son relationship which is assumed it does show two Abrahams were living in Kent County late in the 18th century and that senior must have been well respected an trusted by Jr for him to been acting as his agent. Moss has concluded that his father is Jacob Comegys due to the close association with his descendants and naming patterns. Others however, feel that the entry of Abr Comegys is a mis-statement and was inactuality Abm Falconar. I have assumed the document is correct as stated.

The parents of Abraham are not conclusively determined. based of naming patterns and migration patterns it has commonly been assumed he is the son of Jacob and Hannah. Further, Presley Comegys, a grandson of Abraham, in a leter Ralph Comegys said that Abraham was one of four brothers. The three known sons of Jacob are Benjamin, William and John. Abraham is believed to be the fourth son.
