    "R05-107 Col. Abner Wilson (John, John, Samuel, Robert) born at Harwinton, CT (VR) on 5 July 1742, third of the seven children of Capt. John [and] Abigail (Stephens) Wilson. He was last noted when he sold land at Harwinton in 1805. … His military record, first in 1776 as lieutenant under his uncle Capt. Amos (R04-111), then in 1777 as ensign under Capt. Aaron Foote, later in the spring of 1780 as lieutenant under Capt. Gershom Hewitt and finally, in 1781, as captain of his own company, is all documented in Connecticut Military Records, 1775-1848. His commission as colonel, which he resigned in October 1788 came after the close of the war."
