Knoxville Journal, 31 January 1967 Final Rites for A. W. (Bige) Bishop Funeral services for Bige Bishop, who died Dec. 23 at De-Jong convalescent home, were held Dec. 26 from Bybee & Davis funeral home with Rev. Grover Branson officiating. Burial was in Lincoln cemetery. Pallbearers were William Beal, William Beal Jr., Versal Beebe, Richard Anderson, Roy Beebe and Jerry Beebe. Mrs. Elizabeth Elliott, organist, accompanied Richard Hunt, soloist. Abijah Wines, son of John Quincy and Amand Sparks Bishop, was born Nov. 3, 1876, near Knoxville. He was educated in the Lincoln rural school and engaged in farming until 1908 when he moved to Knoxville where he was a baker and in the restaurant business. On June 20, 1900, he was united in marriage to Marietta Bivans. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five sisters and an infant brother. Surviving are his three children, Mrs. Ivan (Fairy) Anderson, Mrs. Fern Lorimor and Robert Bishop; one sister Lulla Bishop; one brother Glen Bishop; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
