In Nile, N. Y., Oct. 22, 1889, of spinal disease, largely affecting the nervous system, Mrs. Abby J., wife of Dea. Edwin Daniels, aged 66 years and 3 months. She was the daughter of Daniel and Mary Williams, formerly of Connecticut, and was born in Preston, N. Y. She made a profession of religion at the age of 16, was baptized by Eld. J. L. Scott, and joined the Seventh-day Baptist Church at Richburg. At the age of 22 years she was married to Edwin Daniels. In 1882 the family moved to Nile and she with her husband, joined the Friendship Church at Niles. She was an earnest, devoted Christian, having a great desire for the prosperity of the cause of Christ, and during her illness of three years she expressed great anxiety for the same. Since May last, she was confined to her bed, yet it was with much pleasure that her pastor was permitted, from time to time, to hear her express her assurance of acceptance with the Lord. From the nature of her disease there were times when doubts of acceptance with Christ would trouble her, yet she would say, I have left it with the Lord, and will trust in him in the days of health and strength. Consequently she died in the triumph of faith, and rests in heaven. A large attendance at her funeral showed the interest of her neighbors and friends for her.
