Source:Whitney Research Group (WRG), on its page describing Abigail, says her parentage is unknown. Although the marriage intentions identify her as Abigail Whitney "of Lancaster", she was not admitted to the church until 1753 (Lancaster records, p. 376), and there is no apparent record for any Abigail Whitney in the birth, marriage, or death records of Lancaster prior to her marriage.
