Facts and Events
Name[2] Abigail Phillips
Gender Female
Birth[3] Est 1662 Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United States
Marriage Est 1684 Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United Statesto John Blanchard
Death[1] 19 Sep 1724 Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United States

It is known that Nicholas Phillips had a daughter named Abigail who was unmarried at the time he wrote his will in June 1671[2]. She might or might not be the same Abigail Phillips who married John Blanchard (Chamberlain thought John's wife "probably" was Nicholas's daughter)[2].

If Nicholas's daughter was John Blanchard's wife, then it is unlikely that she was the daughter of Nicholas's first wife, as she could not have been born much before 1660. However, it is unknown which fact is incorrect:

  • the 1612 christening date of Elizabeth Jewson (which comes from the Ancestral File and might not be supported with strong evidence) - she could have been born possibly as late as 1616 and had daughters born in 1632 and 1660, although this span of years is unusual
  • that Nicholas's daughter Abigail was also Elizabeth's daughter
  • that Nicholas's daughter married John Blanchard
