  2. We know from her father's probate that Abigail Farrington was known as Abigail White in 1729, so it appears she is the Abigail Farrington who m. 1720 James White, and most likely the widow Abigail White that died 1773, aged about 70. However, 1703 seems too late for a birth given that the previous child was born 1693, so assuming about plus a round number like 70 means a guess based on, say, appearance, her birth was probably earlier. James White was born about 1696 (age 67 when died 1763) and that is probably about when Abigail was born, but about 1700 is a compromise based on the reported age at death.

The work here is somewhat speculative based on the presence of a daughter Abigail White in the distribution of her father's estate in 1729, apparently the youngest daughter. It is complicated by another couple exactly named James White and Abigail Farrington (clearly a different generation, m. 1752) but the wife also died in 1773 (differentiated by her age at death of 30). Further another James White died 1771, but fortunately left a will (Suffolk Probate Vol. 70, p. 338), having moved to Dedham from Egg Harbor, NJ, and apparently his only heir in 1771 being the younger James White whose wife was also Abigail Farrington. Since the younger James White had a daughter Jerusha in 1758, it seems probable the father, the older James White, was the one who married Jerusha White in 1719 and must have moved soon after to New Jersey as there is no further record of James and Jerusha.
