"Joseph (Camp), (s. of John, by wife Mary (dau. of Robert) Sanford, of Htfd.) … m. Abigail _____. … The Htfd. Daily Times of Apr. 6, 1904, gives an opinion regarding Abigail _____ the wife of Joseph Camp. From combined evidence given, he is inclined to believe she was dau. of Samuel Benton, b. 9 Dec., 1691—(Benton Genealogy). Saml. Benton had a dau Abigail, b. at above date, who was ment. in her father's will as Abigail in 1744—and as he was an adm. on Joseph Camp's will with Abigail, is one reason for believing so. The same writer (H. W. B.) also suggests that Abigail Camp was prob. dau. of Saml. Benton, for reasons given, and that she may have m. (2) Rich'd Montague, of Weth.—reason—'Mrs. Abigail Mantague's known age at death agrees perfectly with Abigail Benton’s birth-date.'"
