    RICHARDSON, Abiel, [died] Sept. 7, 1777.

  3.   It seems quite likely that he is the Abiel Richardson whose death in Royalston, Mass., 7 Sep 1777, is found in the VRs, because his father reuses the name for a son by his 2nd wife soon after. If so, then he is meant to be the Abiel Richardson, #5368 in Source:Vinton, John Adams. Richardson Memorial. It seems likely Vinton misidentified the parents of that entry. But it is not clear that the children attributed to that Abiel are actually his, as similarly-named children belong to the brother Timothy. So perhaps Abiel died unmarried. There are no records indicating otherwise. In other words, Vinton got virtually nothing right about Abiel.
