Last Will & Testament of Abel Allen of Weston Lib. 27, Page 13S2

In The Name of God Amen. This Twenty Eighth day of March anno Dom one Thousand Seven Hundred & fifty and on ye Twenty third year of the reign of our Sovrign Lord Gerge ye Second King &c I Abal Allen of Weston in County of Midd within his Maj's Province of Massach'ts Bay in New England Husbandman. Being aged and De??ing in body but of Perfect Mind & Memory (thanks be to God therefore) Calling to mind ye frailty and Mortality of my body, and knowing it is appoint'd unto all men once to die. I do make & ordain this my Last will & Testament (viz) Principaly & first of all I give & Recommend my Soul into ye hand of God who gave it & my body I Recommend to ye Earth to be burey'd in a Decent Christan burial at ye Disscretion of my Executor here after Nam'd. And as to my Worldy goods & Estate I Dispose of them in ye following manner & form (viz) -

Imprimis. My will is that all my Just Debts & funeral Charges be Pay'd by my Executor hereafter Nam'd as soon as may be after my decss.

Itm.I give & bequeath to my well beloved wife Elisabeth free & full Liberty of ye Northerly End of my now Dewlling house to Improve for her self (but not to let it to any body nor to Take in a family) with ye Liberty of ye well & sellar & privilledge to pass too & from ye same at plesure, and for her Comfortable Support & maintenance. I give & bequeath to her ye following articles to be annually Provided & Deliver'd to her by my Executors here after named So Long as she shall continue to Dwell on that place where I now dwell & Remain my widow (she quitting all other Right of Dower or Third in my Estate) (viz) To have one godo Cow kept for her use ye year Round & to find her a horse for her use when shee shall have accation [occasion], and also to have found & Deliver'd to her Ten bushill of good Indian Corn & one bushill of Rye & one bushill of malt anualy. And also one Hundred Pound of good Pork & Sixty Pound of good Beef and Two bushill of turnips & one peck of beans and to have Liberty of a gardain fenc'd & Tended sufficient to Reiss [Raise] green [???] summer season & also Two barills of Cydear Put into ye Sellar in good Season & also six pounds of good sheep wooll & four pounds of flax from ye Swinglo[?] all those articules to be provided yearly & every year during ye Term afores'd and also to procure her sufficient wood [??] for ye fire & brought into house if requir'd and to procure her sufficient nursing & fisick if needed during ye afors'd Term. And if she shall marry or move off from that Place my will is that shee quitt all Right to my Estate carrying off what shee brought with her when shee came to me & no more.

Itm. I give & bequeath unto my well belov'd Son Robert ye sum of Twenty pound, to be pay'd within three years after my Decss.

Itm. I give & bequeath unto my well belov'd Son John ye Sum of sixteen Pounds to be pay'd within four years after my Decss he having had part of his portion before.

Itm I give to my well belov'd Son George ye Sum of five Shillings he having had his full portion in my Life Time.

Itm. I give & bequeath unto my Two GranChildren Abegail & Mary Allen ye Daughters of my well beloved son Abel Decs'd ye Sum of Twenty Pounds to be Equaly Devided between them when they come at Lawfull age or [settel?]ed by marriage.

Itm. I give & bequeath unto My well belov'd Daughter Sarah Falls ye Sum of fifteen Pounds within five years after my Decss Shee having had part of her Portion before

Itm. I give & bequeath unto my well Belov'd Daughter Susannah Harrington ye sum of Twenty Pounds within six years after my Decess. All ye Leagecys heretofore given and bequeath are to be understood to be payable by my Executors here after Nam'd at their Several periods in such money as shall then pass as a moadem of Trade within this Province at ye value Equal to ye bills of this Province of ye Last Emition as they are, at this Day

Itm. I give & bequeath to my well belov'd Son David all my Lands & Tennements in Weston or Elsewhere to him his Heirs and assigns forever in fee simple, he paying all my Just Debts, funaral changes & all ye Legecys here to fore given & bequeathed with ye Dower I have given to my wife &c.

And I do nomenate & appoint, make & ordain My well beloved Son David to be my Sole Executor of this my Last will & Testament,and do herby utterly Disallow Revoke & Disanull all & Every other & former Testaments or will by me made or [???] Ratifying & Confirming this and no other to be my Last [will] & Testament.
