Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Moses Porter and Sarah Killman (1742-1843), his wife. Moses Porter, (1738-1803), turned out as a sergeant at the Lexington Alarm. He was at Bennington, Bemus Heights and Saratoga. He was born in Mansfield, Connecticut and died in Pawlet, Vermont, and major is inscribed on his tomb.
