    Was born at E. Hartford, Conn., and died at Rhinebeck, N. Y. He grad. Union College, Schenectady, N. Y. Was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. Received degree of Doctor of Divinity from Union College. Ordained 1844 in Episcopal Ministry in which he served for fifty-one years, a portion of the time in North and South Carolina and the last twenty-eight years in Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, N. Y., as Rector of the "Church of the Messiah."

    After an illness of a few weeks, Rev. A.F. Olmsted, D.D., pastor of the Church of the Messiah, Rhinebeck, died at his home on Montgomery Street, in that village, on Wednesday morning, February 6th, the 77th year of his age.
