Mary Davidson Barrell Mary Davidson Barrell, 90, a resident of Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg since 1992, died on Monday, December 22, 2008. She was born on December 3, 1918, in Appomattox, VA and was the daughter of the late Thomas Osborne and Annie Thornhill Davidson. Mary attended Madison College, now JMU and was a member of the Madison Presbyterian Church. She lived sixteen years in Madison, VA, but also many other areas in Virginia, including Culpeper, Fishersville, and Onancock. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crafting, quilting, gardening, and her grandchildren. On July 21, 1941 she married Stuart Hall Barrell who preceded her in death on July 31, 2006. Mrs. Barrell is survived by a son, Charles D. Barrell and his wife, Jane of Rapidan, a daughter, Mary Stuart Barrell MacNemar and her husband, Dunbar of Columbia, MD, and two grandchildren, Mary Virginia MacNemar and Kimberly MacNemar Liska and her husband, Brian. She was one of seven children and is survived by a sister, Lily B. Haley of Winchester, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her body was cremated at the Lindsey Cremation Chapel in Harrisonburg. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 28, 2008, at Meredith Chapel, at Sunnyside Retirement Community with Rev. Paul O'Gorek officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Madison Presbyterian Church, P. O.
