Nazor, Susannah - Certificate of Birth and Baptism. |
CERTIFICATE OF BIRTH AND BAPTISM. To these two Parents: As SAMUEL NEZOR, and his Wife, CATHERINE, a daughter of GG. RANK, was born a DAUGHTER on the SECOND day of NOVEMBER in the year of our Lord 1830. This Child was born in SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, in CUMBERLAND County, in the State of PENNSYLVANIA, in North America; was baptized by the Rev. RAWHAUSER, and received the name of SUSANNAH. Witness present at the Act of Baptism: THE PARENTS.
Certificate also includes poems and the wording that it was printed by G.S. Peters in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
This certificate is in a wood frame that appears to be painted in a brown milk paint.
Certificate and frame was in the possession of Martha Clarinda Crum Haines, daughter of John Francis Crum and Henrietta "Etta" Faulkner. John Francis Crum was the son of Jacob Crum and his wife, Susannah "Susan" Nazor (Nezor).
When Martha was moved from her home, and her possessions dispersed, her daughter, Patricia, took the framed certificate. In 2009, she gave it to her nephew, CJC. The certificate had been damaged earlier, apparently from water and the acid in the original wood backing. It was professionally reframed using acid-free backing and museum-quality glass.
