In the Name of God amen, I being Weak in body but in perfect memory I do Allow My body to be buried and my soul, to God, that have it. I do allow all Debts to be paid first --- I do bequeth to My Wife, her living at the plantation while She Lives as also a two Year old bay Mare with a bright Hare I do allow to Jean Edmiston a Dark bay Mare two Years Old and a red Year ling heifer as also to my Daughter Dorothy Edmiston I allow five pounds of Pennsylvania Money, and also to my son James Edmiston I do allow a black gray Cow or forty Shillings of Virginia Money and to give Up the bond and bill of sale to him. I do allow to my son William Edmondson the plantation which I now profsofs(?) and plow and Gears (?) and what remains of all goods and Chattells is to be equally divided between my Wife and my son, William Edmondson I allow Thomas McSpaden and Wm. Edmistone to be my Executors this as my last Will and Testament this Sixth day of April 1749

I am looking for information on Robert Edmiston. His wife's name may have been Jean. They had a daughter Dorothy b. 1721. She married Thomas McSpadden around 1743/44 in Augusta Co., VA. Any info on this family would be appreciated.

MAY, 1750 (B). Thomas Nevitt vs. Edmiston and wife.--Petition. George Heas (Hays) made note to plaintiff 12th June, 1745, and died, leaving widow, Sarah, who married James Edmiston. Writ dated 25th May, 1749. Thomas Nevitt was a Quaker from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

NOVEMBER, 1758 (B). Patton's executor vs. Edmondson.--The widow Sara Hays married James Edmondson between 1748 (date of bond), and 1757 (bringing of suit).

MARCH, 1758 (C). Borden's Executors vs. James Edmonson and Sarah: late Sarah Hays.-- Was unmarried 17th May 1748. James Hays, son of Sarah. Signature of Patrick Hays.
