BLISSFIELD, Dec 19 John A. (Jack) Moray, 59 years old, died Sunday at
6 a.m. in Bixby hospital in Adrian where he was admitted a few hours
earlier. He suffered a heart attach in his home at 508 Giles Avenue.
Born Feb. 15, 1896, in Lawton, MI. Mr. Moray was the son of the Rev.
John A. and Clara Sanderson Moray.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World Was I and had been a postman
out of the Blissfield post office for 31 years. Mr. Moray planned to
retire in February. He was a charter member of the Robert Meachen post
of the American Legion of which he was a past commander and also a past
noble grand of the Odd Fellow lodge. He was married April 12, 1920. to
Alma Nachtrieb and Nov. 5, 1945 to Mrs. Joyce Beitelshees Churchill.
He is survived by his wife. Joyce: three sons, Donald and John of Ann
Arbor and Edwin of Blissfield: one daughter. Mrs. Rafe (Lois) Reese of
Milan, seven grandchildren. Three brothers, Fred A. and Freeman of
Lansing and George of Black Mountain NC and two sisters Mrs. D.C. Turbin
of Merrill and Mrs. Carroll Beale of Port Huron. He was preceded in
death by a daughter, Ila May, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Tagsold Funeral
Home. The Rev. J.J. Nofzinger of Munson and the Rev Alfred Price will
officiate Burial will be in Peasant View cemetery where military service
will be conducted by the Legion post.
