Document 1 Order for Probate In the Will of John Ebbott late of Chewton in the State of Victoria, Gentleman deceased. Before the Registrar. The 13th day of October 1920 Upon Application this day made by the Proctor for the applicant and upon reading the several affidavits of John Ebbott, Gilbert Henry Ebbott and Patrick Trundell and filed here in this court doth order that probate of the will of the above-named John Ebbott deceased be granted to John Ebbott of 44 Ebden Street, Elsternwick in the state of ?Victoria manager and Gilbert Henry Ebbott of 4 Codrington Street Sydney in the State of New South Wales, Manager, the executors appointed by said will.

Document 2 Probate In the Will of John Ebbott late of Chewton in the State of Victoria, Gentleman deceased.

Be it Known that on the thirteenth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand nine hundred and twenty THE WILL (a true copy whereof is hereunto annexed) of JOHN EBBOTT late of Chewton in the State of Victoria, Gentleman deceased who died on the twenty-ninth day of August One thousand nine hundred and twenty and who had at the time of his death real estate within the jurisdiction sworn not ot exceed in value eighty-five pounds and personal estate within the jurisdiction sworn not to exceed in value two hundred and fifty eight pounds fifteen shillings and five pence was proved by JOHN EBBOTT of 44 Ebden Street Elsternwick in the said State, manager and GILBERT HENRY EBBOTT of Cordrington Street Sydney in the State of New south Wales manager the executors named therein they having been first sworn that they would well and truly collect and administer according to laws the estate of the said deceased and would exhibit and deposit in the Office of the Master Equity a true and perfect Inventory of the said estate within three months of order granting Probate and a true and just account of their administration of the said estate within fifteen months of the said order. THIS GRANT is made upong the condition that no portion of the assets shall be distributed or paid during the War to any beneficiary or creditor who is a German, Austro-Hunargian, Turkish or Bulgarian subject wherever resident or to anyone on his behalf or to or on behalf of any person resident in Germany, Austria-Hungary, Turkey or Bulgaria of whatever nationality without the express sanction of the Crown and if any distribution is made contrary to this condition of grant of Probate will be forthwith revoked Given at Melbourne the 24th day of November in the year of our Lord One thousand nine hundred and twenty J. Carter Registrar of Probate.

Document 3 Affidavit of Searches

Document 4 Affidavit of Executors In the Will of John Ebbott late of Chewton in the State of Victoria, Gentleman deceased.

We, John Ebbott of 44 Ebden Street Elsternwick in the Sate of Victoria, manager and Gilbert Henry Ebbott of 4 Codriingtron Street Sydney in the State of New South Wales, manager jointly and severally make oath and say 1. That we are seeking to obtain Probate of the Will of the above-named John Ebbott and deceased and we are both of the full age of twenty one years 2. The deceased died on the twenty-ninth day of August One thousand nine hundred and twenty at Chewton aforeseaid. 3. The said deceased was married at the time of his death. 4. The said deceased left a Will bearing the thirteenth day of November One thousand nine hundred and seventeen which is as we believe the last Will and Testament of the said deceased and which is unrevoked



9. That the said deceased left real estate in the state of Victoria not exceeding the value of eighty five pounds and personal property in the said State not exceeding the value of two hundred and fifty eight pounds fifteen shillings and fivepence making twofether the sum of three hundred and forty-three pounds fifteen shillings and fivepence



11. THAT the following advertisement duly appeared in the Castelmaine Mail newspaper published in Castlemaine on the seventeenth day of September One thousand nine hundred and twenty- AFTER the expiration of fourteen days from the publication hereof application will be made ot the Supreme Court of the State of Victoria in its Probate Jurisdiction that PROBATE of the WILL of JOHN EBBOT late of Chewton in the said state Gentleman deceased be granted to John Ebbott of 44 Ebden Street, Elsternwick in the said State, Manager and Gilbert Henry Ebbott of 4 Codrington Street, Sydney in the State of New South wales Manager, the executors appointed by the said Will.

DATED this 16th day of September 1920

12. THAT the said Castlemaine Mail is a newspaper which has been published and has been circulating in the district of Chewton for the past thirty years. 13. THAT the said deceased had been continuously resident in the said district of Chewton for a period of thirty years immediately preceding the date of his death.

The above deponents John Ebbott and Gilbert Henry Ebbott were severally sworn at Melbourne in the State of Victoria the ninth day of October 1920

Document 5 Inventory Real estate All those pieces of land being Crown Allotment Seventy-three and part of Crown Allotment Seventy-four Section F One Parish of Chewton having a frontage of 99 feet to Church Street Chewton by a depth along George Street of 196 feet or thereabouts upon which is erected a four roomed weatherboard dwelling occupied deceased. Assessed by the Shire of Metcalf at the annual value of £9. Purchased by deceased for £36 and valued by executors at £85
