Andrew Munro at age 20 was a Clerk. Occupation Major 21st Brig. Royal Reg. Artillery/Gas Engineer He enlisted in the Honourable East India Company Regiment of Artillary at 11 am 28 Aug. 1848 at London County of Middlesex. Embarked for Bombay on 4 Oct 1848 Arrived in Bombay in 19 Feb 1849. Promoted to Bombardier 28 June 1853 Promoted to Store and Park Corporal 8 Oct in 1856 Dec 1856 he took part in the Persian Campaign where 7000 troops under General Outram landed at Brushire in the Persian Gulf. Treaty signed in March 1857 - Andrew awarded the Persian Medal with one clasp Promoted Sergeant 9 October 1857 Appointed Brigade Quartermaster Sergeant on june 1 1860 1861 - Disbanded 7/5/1861 transfered to B. Battery 21 Brigade Royal Artillery where he served as Brigade Quartermaster Sergeant until his discharge on 23 March 1869 at MHOW Served 22 years 207 days in the army. He was 40.7 years old on discharge. His intended place of residence was Bombay.
