Elizabeth and Levi lived their early married life around Rock Twp. in Harrison Co. Ohio. In 1841 Levi bought 80 acres of land from his father, John Wagner, in Athens Co., Homer Twp. (Deed) in Jan 1850 a new county was formed and Homer Twp. was placed in Morgan Co. where we find the family on the 1850 census. In 1851 Levi sold his property and bought 112 acres in Gallia Co. Ohio for $600 and sold it for $1300 in 1857.

In 1857 Levi and Elizabeth, with six children, journeyed by train from Gallia Co. Ohio to Olathe, Kansas, Johnson Co. where they appear on 1860 census. Their oldest son, Henry, and his young family followed, using an ox cart. The family "homesteaded" on a Government Claim in Springhill Twp. Johnson Co. Ks. which was then Indian Territory.

In August 1859, Elizabeth became ill of Cholera and died after ten days. There is a death record filled with the Board of Health, Topeka, Kansas. Elizabeth's was the second grave opened in a new cemetery "near Olathe", according to a signed paper by Martha Louis Wagner Rand.

The information on this Wagner family is from the book "John Wagner and his twelve children of Harrison County Ohio 1776-1984" by Audrey L. Wagner Woodruff and Laura Gallon Wagner.
