Trimble Allied Families
Houston: Many Trimble descendants who have researched records of their ancestors have not been able to find the given name of the wife of David Trimble, the immigrant ancestor, and the mother of his children. The only clue seems to be a letter written by daughter Elizabeth (Trimble) Graham, in which she said, "her mother was a Houston of Virginia". We will continue to search for a marriage record and her parents' names.
Graham: In our files are letters from other researchers of the Graham surname which do not connect with what we know of our "Polly" Mary Graham, who married Isaac Trimble 14 June 1787 in Rockbridge County, Va. Her father was
Arthur Graham - he was a taxpayer in Rockbridge Co., Va., the Commissioner visited his home May 16th 1787. He had no Blacks living with him, had 3 horses and 10 cattle. This was the extent of the enumeration. No family members were counted.
In Kentucky there are no Grahams on Nicholas County census from 1810 thru 1850. We will continue to search these records.
We have assumed that Fergus Graham who married Elizabeth Trimble, sister of Isaac Trimble, may be the brother of Mary (Polly) Graham.
Laughlin: The other allied family on the Trimble story is the main portion of this work.
