1879 Robert L. Laughlin March Jo 19th Isaac P. Laughlin

This mortgage made this 19th day of March 1879 between Robert L. Laughlin of the first part and Isaac P. Laughlin of the second part witnesseth: that whereas the first party has become this instant and simultaneously herewith indebted to second part in the sum of Eighty-five ($85.00) dollars evidenced by first parties promissory note of even date herewith due one day after said date and bearing eight percent interest from said date until paid. Now in consideration of the premises and to secure the payment of said indebtedness first party hereby bargains, sells, and conveys to second part one gray mare about ten years of age, one grey mare three years of age, one black mare colt one year old.

One while muly cow, one red and white spotted cow about five years old, all in the possession of first party the conditions of this conveyance are such that if first party well and timely pays said not and unto second party said conveyance shall be void wise to remain in full force & effect.

State of Kentucky County of Bourbon

I Jas. M. Hughes Clerk of the County Court of said County do certify that on the 19th day of March the foregoing mortgage was produced to me in my office and acknowledged and delivered by Robert L. Laughlin party thereto, to be his act and deed as the same and this certificate hath been duly recorded in my office. Given under my hand this 19th day of March 1879.
