Text of Land Petition: To His Excellency John Colborne, Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Upper Canada, Major General Commanding His Majesty’s Forces therein. In Council. The Petition of James Ormsby. Humbly herewith. That your Petitioner is a discharged Soldier from the 52nd Regiment with a Pension of 10 1/2 Acres [...] as will appear by his Pension Instructions herewith enclosed that he has located upon lot no. 14 in the 12th Concession of Oro as will more? fully appear in the [?] of the [ .....] of Crown Land that he has resided upon this location upwards of three years as is attested by a certificate lodged in the [?] Office, from Mr. ? the Agent for settling that Township. He therefore humbly prays that His Excellency will be pleased to direct the Deed to [?] for the said lot. And as is duly bound. Your Petitioner will ever pray.

Enclosure: The Petitioner is returned by the [?] as located on the 10 July 1831 for this East half No 14 in the 12 Concession of the Township of Oro and he having improved thereon and resided? the ? requested a ? ... may issue of it be Your Excellency’s pleasure. 25 April 1835.

Text of Executive Council Decision: Praying that a Patent may [?] for the East half of Lot Number Fourteen in the Twelfth Concession of the Township of Oro for which he was located as a Discharged Soldier from the 52nd Regiment of Foot and on which he has informed the settlement Duties. Recommended.
