Tina Hall runs a website containing the genealogy of several King lines, including one on Michael King of Nansemond, VA, the original immigrant of many King families. The main pages on Michael King were authored by Lou Pero who used to publish a King newsletter. However, the part of the website that this page refers to is a separate section authored by Hank King. The two parts are kept separate because they reach some different conclusions. In Tina Hall's own words, "I have gradually changed my files to agree with Hank's."

Hank King's research is almost entirely based on primary records found in Virginia and North Carolina archives, and I have found it to be very reliable. To the extent that I have found wills and court records for this family, they do indeed indicate the relationships shown on Hank's web pages. He seems to present nothing that isn't found in primary documents.

To access Hank's pages within the above website, use Hank's menu at the bottom of the page referenced using the above URL. In my citations of the source, the page numbers will be of the form "Charles King 15515". This is the name of an individual in Hank's menu, and clicking on his name in that menu will take you to the intended webpage.

The number following Charles King is a Libby-style descendancy path from the original immigrant (referring to Source:Libby, Charles T. Libby Family in America, 1602-1881). In this case, Charles King (Jr.), #15515, is (reading backwards) the fifth son of 1551 (Charles King Sr.), who is the first/eldest son of 155 (Charles King), who is the fifth son of 15 (William King) who is the fifth son of #1 (Michael King the immigrant).
