Date: 25 Sep 2005 Reference number: Descendants of Jacob Winfrey.ged In a message dated 9/24/2005 10:19:35 PM Eastern Standard Time, jwinfrey@nc.rr.com writes: have a distant memory of talking to you quite a while ago but I can't find the e-mail string now. I don't know if you've worked with Laura Winfrey and Don Winfrey. We've been studying Winfree/Winfrey lines for quite a while. One thing we know is that if you look long enough and get very lucky, all these randon lines do tie together. We haven't found anybody yet with those spellings who didn't descend from Jacob Winfree in VA in the late 1600s. My line is from Jacob through his probable grandson Israel. Do you have the AOL service that lets you receive large files? If so, I can send you a gedcom of the data I have. I can receive large files so if you could send me a gedcom of your data, I would appreciate seeing it. I also have a copy of Robley Winfreys research on the Virginia Winfrey's courtesy of Clarence Winfree that I could send you. I can't find the string of correspondence either. I'm not sure if I know of the work of Laura and Don Winfrey or Robley Winfrey of VA. I would love to review your information and that of Robley Winfrey's research! I am attaching 2 .GED files. One is what I have on Jacob Winfree and the other on Hardin Frank Winfree, Sr. Let me know if you have any problems with reading them. I look forward to comparing notes. Please overlook my rambling in my notes. I have a tendency to include notes for further research because of names and locations. I look forward ot you comments as well.
