I am the great granddaughter of Elizabeth Esmond b.1-12-1837. Her parents were William and Anne Davis Esmon. I came accross your web pages and am also searching for family history. If you are interested, please email me at [email protected]. Hi, it is so nice to meet you. We did have that reunion, I had never heard of the Indian connection prior to that reunion. My pictures of Elizabeth and my Grandfather certainly does not look Indian to me, but since we cant prove otherwise, yet, we will keep digging. I had not heard of the Choctaw so we will explore all avenues before we say one way or the other. I have talked to David in the past but have not heard from him in the last month or so.Elizabeth was married to Benjamin Franklin JOhnson around 1863, have been unable to confirm the date. They were married in Monroe county. They had 5 children, Sarah, Eliza, Jane, James and Elijah. James died at age 3. My grandfather was Elijah, born 9-28-1873 died 1-7-1942. He married Sallie Harris she died 11 months after their marriage. He then married my grandmother, Ida Hickman, on July 1, 1900. They had James Warner b. 05-18-1901, d. 4-7-1978, Walter Ramsey b. 06-1-1903 d. 1-6-1948.Benjamin Franklin b. 3-12-1905 d. 5-24-1983, Samuel Elmer b. 12-4-1906 died as a child, Claudia Harrison b. 4-12-1909 d. 4-26-1909, Nona Elizabeth b. 4-15-1910 d. 2-14-1995, Ernest Elijah b. 5-27-1912 d. 11-4-1984, Alma Marie b. 5-11-1915 still living, Thomas Leonard b. 7-18-1918 died as a child, Charles Arlen b. 2-14-1920 died May 1920, Chester Arnold b. 5-29-1921 unsure of date of death, Ruby Beatrice b. 12-01-1923 died ?, Blanch 5-12-1926 stillborn. My father was Ernest Elijah, There were 6 of us children and I have lost two sisters in the past 14 months. Hope to get ot meet all of the Esmon cousins one day. Will write more later. By the way my name is Ruby Stevens, most people call me Kaye, and I live in Rossville Georgia. Nice to meet another member of the family. |
