OBITUARY NewsSentinel October 20 1919 p. 15 OLD SOLDIER DIES SUDDENLY Pioneer of St. Joseph Township Passes Away. Lorenzo Shuler, aged 70 years, 3 months and 22 days died at his home in St. Joseph township this morning at 4 o'clock, after an illness of about ten days. Death was due to complications. The deceased was born in Pennsylvania He was one of the first settles of St. Joseph township. He married Mary Creditor, from which union there were fourteen children of which nine survive He served three years in the civil war. Surviving are five boys and four girls, Casper, of Toma, Iowa; C. L. Shuler, of St. Joseph township; A.S. Shuler, of Huntertown, and Lawrence and Joseph of this city; Mrs. E. J. Trout of St. Joseph township; Mrs D. C. Faulkner of Albion; Mrs A. C. Rees of Chicago, and Mrs. A. Sarrzine, of Fort Wayne. The funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9 o'clock from the home and at 9:30 at St Vincent's Catholic curch. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
