'Hans Johnson (Grandfather) was born in upper Telemarken. His father was John (Saagaabuken) Johnson. Grandfather came to America in 1870 at the age of 20 being born Jan. 20, 1850. He came to his Aunty Mrs. Moen in Minnesota in the same neighborhood as Grandmother. His parents came from Norway a year later. His father died the same year and his mother moved on to North Dakota where she died about 1888. 'Grandfather & Grandmother were married in 1876 in June in Minnesota and John & Julia (mother) were born at Hayfield Minn in 1877 in July and Sept 1879. 'Grandmother was born Feb 19, 1857. She was 19 yrs old when married. 'Thorstein Hellikaas in lower Telemarken Norway was Grandmother's father's name. He came to Minnesota in 1869 & settled about 25 miles from Northfield. He moved on to Edinburg N D. in June 1881. He died in 1889. 'Gunhild Faasom was Grandmother['s] mother. She died in Norway when Grandmother was 6 yrs old. 6 yrs later her father brought her to America. Grandmother was born in 1857 on Feb. 19th. 'Grandmother was more or less raised by her Uncle John Hellikaas'
