 | Early survey records survive for many areas of southwestern Virginia. A number of individuals have invested considerable time and effort in reconstructing maps from these survey records, not just for individual parcels, but for large groups of adjacent properties. Such maps help us understand more clearly the setting in which our ancestors found themselves.
