[edit] TranscriptionCumberland Advocate, Thursday, July 6, 1939 Quite a shock to everyone was Mrs. Andrew Thompson's death Thursday morning at 10:15. Mrs. Thompson had been sick several weeks but no one thought death would come so soon. A fine type of Christian beloved by everyone has gone to rest. She leaves her husband, 10 children, 3 step children, several grandchildren and 2 brothers to mourn her passing. Our sympathy is extended to her bereaved family. Tollef Thompson came from Springfield, S. Dak., Thursday, but unfortunately did not arrive before his mother's death. p. 8 MARTINE EMILIA THOMPSON Martin Emelia Orgedahl was born to Simon and Massie Orgedahl at Rock Creek, Mithell Co., Iowa, on May 17, 1875. In April 1899 she became the wife of Andrew H. Thompson, who with six children and three step-children survive to mourn the passing of a beloved wife and mother. The six sons are Ingvald of Superior, Otto of Cumberland, and Jens, Steven, Arnold, and Bernard, at home; the daughters, Nora, Mrs. Al Kindel, Superior, Thelma, Mrs. Art Sandve, Cumberland, and Milla and Helen, at home. The step-children to whom she was equally mother are Tollef, Springfield, S.Dak., Lydia, Mrs. Christ Mathison, Cumberland, and Amanda, Mrs. Milen Sletten, Superior. Two brothers Sorn and Albert Orgedahl of Cumberland, twenty-four grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. File historyLegend: (cur) = this is the current file, (del) = delete
