Description

University of Virginia Marker

This Historical Marker stands near the spot of the tavern in which Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Spencer Roane, Archibald Stuart, & Creed Taylor met. At this meeting they decided to found the University of Virginia in Charlottesville instaed of Staunton or Lexington.
