Old Almy House "A Country Store", ca 1980.

The Old Almy House (ca 1750 ; 1016 East Main Road): A 2 1/2 story structure, with two, interior, brick chimneys; a central entry in an open porch across the front; and a wing at the rear. It is now a "country store." (1855-?; 1870-A. Coggeshall.) [1]

Notes

  • Purchased and restored in 1971, by Mrs. Cecile McKinney and her husband Ed who turned the former Almy home into the Almy House Country Store and Christmas Fantasy in Portsmouth, where they sold antiques, country store goods and Christmas items, and which became an institution in RI over its 30 year existence.
