[edit] Text of ArticleLetter To The Editor I was somewhat "confused" to read in last Sunday's Union-Bulletin that recently discovered remains at the Marmes Rockshelter are the oldest ever found in the Western Hemisphere. This statement appeared with a picture showing visitors at the Rockshelter, and referring the "Skull fragments and other bones 11,000 to 13,000 years old..." If this information is correct, what has happened to the Folsom Man" and "Sandia Man?" In 1950, the Folsom Man, according to archaeologists, had lived in the Southwest 12,000 to 15,000 years before. His remains had been discovered in 1925 by a Negro cowboy named George McJunkin, in the bank of an arroyo near Folsom, N.M. continued...
