Hans Otzen was the Captain of the ship Twende Broders, and in 1810 his ship was seized by the HMS Tartar and towed to Leith in Scotland. This happened during the "Gunboat War," which was a naval conflict between Denmark–Norway and the British Navy during the Napoleonic Wars.
