Description

Portrait of Lili Damita in the 1920s. The French-born actress was enrolled at 14 as a dancer at Paris' Opera Garnier and performed in various music halls before leading the Casino de Paris' revue. She appears in several silent films during the 1920s before leaving for Hollywood, in 1928, where she met with great success and collaborated with an A-list of male actors. In 1935, she married Errol Flynn and decided to retire from the screens. In the 1970s, Lili Damita was brought back to the media's and the public's attention when fighting to find her son who had gone missing in Vietnam where he travelled as a photojournalist.
