Mrs. Elizabeth (Mountjoy) Garrard This portrait is one of a pair chosen by her daughter, Elizabeth Mountjoy, who, as the widow of James Allen Brooks, accompanied by a small daughter, Eliza, came home to live until the latter's first marriage in 18 3 3. The painting was somewhat damaged in 1930 by a fire at the home of the great-great-granddaughter who owns it. Oil on canvas, 26" X 21". By Chester Harding
