[edit] Benoit Rites Set Today in SulphurSULPHUR, La. Funeral rites for Mrs. Pazie Landry Benoit, 72, a native and lifelong resident of the Sulphur area, were to be held at 4 p.m. today from the Southside Baptist church. The Rev. R. L. Green, Southside pastor, was to officiate, assisted by the Rev. H. H. O'Bier, pastor of the Sulphur First Baptist church. Burial under direction of Hixson funeral home was to be in the Landry cemetery near Sulphur. The body was at the family residence. Mrs. Benoit died at her home south of Sulphur at 8:45 a.m., Tuesday, following a two year illness. She was born in Sulphur on January 3, 1882, and belonged to the Southside Baptist church. Mrs. Benoit and her husband celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last September. Besides her husband, Mrs. Benoit is survived by three sons, Eulice (Tuk) of Sulphur, Dostie of Port Arthur, Texas, and Lennie of Orange, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Steve Richardson of Orange and Mrs. Oran Wing of Sulphur; five brothers, Jackson, Hendry and Steve Landry all of Sulphur, Junios Landry of Sour Lake, Texas, and Willie Landry of Port Arthur; one sister, Miss Minerva Landry of Sulphur; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
