[add comment] [edit] The use of "Gulielmi" as surname for the children [19 October 2020]"Gulielmi" is Latin for "son of William". I think you were reading from a register where the curate or rector decided to enter all the baptisms in Latin and wrote down the names as John "Gulielmi" [John, son of William] instead of John Tonge and so on for the rest of them. The one with the surname Tonge is one where you discovered his name from his marriage or his death. I am guessing here, but if you had provided WeRelate with sources for these entries, we would be more enlightened.--Goldenoldie 11:10, 19 October 2020 (UTC) |
